Cross-Play Is On: Java and Bedrock Friends, One Kingdom

2026-06-29 · updatecrossplay

Big news for every friend group: cross-play is on. Your friends on Java Edition, playing on PC and Mac, and your friends on Bedrock Edition, playing on console, phone, tablet, or Windows, now join the same private world together. It no longer matters who owns what. Everybody meets in the same place.

This is what a lot of you asked for. One kingdom, everybody's device, friends only. Whether someone is on a laptop after school or a phone on the couch, they walk into the worlds and build side by side with the rest of the group.

Java and Bedrock, friends only

Nothing about your setup changes. Your world is still private and still locked to your whitelist, so only the people you invite can get in. Cross-play simply means those invited friends can now show up from any Minecraft device they have. That is the whole point of a server for friends: everyone in, no one left out because of their platform.

Cross-play is live now on every private kingdom, no extra steps needed. If your crew has been split across Java and Bedrock, this is the update that brings them back together. Ready to get the whole group on one map? Start a private kingdom and play together today.
