Minecraft Beta & Preview 26.60.30: Faster Realm Uploads, Achievement Fix & Smoother Touch Controls
What Changed
Minecraft Beta & Preview version 26.60.30, released on 6 October 2026, is a small but tidy update covering three distinct areas:
- Realms – World upload speed & reliability: Major under-the-hood improvements mean uploading a world to a Realm is noticeably faster and far less likely to fail or hang mid-transfer.
- Add-Ons – Achievement re-enablement (MCPE-242586): A previous bug incorrectly stripped achievements from worlds that used add-ons, even when those add-ons shouldn't have affected eligibility. Affected worlds will now have achievements automatically restored the next time they are loaded.
- User Interface – Touch control stutter fix (MCPE-243048): Players on touchscreen devices (phones and tablets) were seeing visual stuttering while using touch controls. That jittery experience is now resolved.
Why It Matters
None of these changes grab headlines the way a new biome or mob would, but each one solves a real frustration that players have been reporting for a while. The achievement bug in particular stung, there are few things more demoralising than losing your hard-earned progress through no fault of your own. Getting that restored automatically (no action required from the player) is a thoughtful fix. The upload improvement is similarly practical: large, well-loved worlds can take an age to push to Realms, so any speed gain here is welcome. And for the millions of kids playing Minecraft on a tablet or phone, removing that visual stutter makes the whole experience feel more polished.
Java and Bedrock
This release is Bedrock-only, Java Edition is not affected. The Beta build is available on Android via Google Play, while Preview is available on Xbox, PlayStation, Windows, and iOS. As always, Beta and Preview builds are works-in-progress and may be less stable than the live release version, so treat them as a sneak peek rather than your everyday client.
For Server Owners
If you run a Bedrock-compatible server setup, the Realms upload improvements are not directly applicable to you (Realms is Mojang's own hosted service), but the underlying network and reliability work sometimes signals improvements that flow into the broader Bedrock server ecosystem in later releases. The achievement fix is client-side and add-on-specific, so standard server setups won't be impacted. The touch-control fix is entirely client-side, nothing changes on the server end.
For Parents
If your child plays Minecraft on a phone or tablet, the touch-control stutter fix in this Preview should make their sessions feel smoother once it reaches the full release. More importantly, if they ever complained that their achievements disappeared after they tried a world with add-ons (mods or content packs), that issue is now corrected, their progress will come back automatically the first time they open that world on the updated version. No need to troubleshoot or contact support.
For Players
Good news on two fronts! First, if your achievements vanished because of an add-on, they're coming back, just load your world after updating and they'll be restored. Second, if you play on a touchscreen and things have been looking a bit glitchy and jumpy, that stuttering should be gone. And if you've ever groaned waiting for a big world to finish uploading to a Realm, future uploads should be quicker and more reliable. Small update, real improvements!
Do SNT Kingdoms Need an Update?
No action required, and SNT kingdoms are not affected by this release. Here's why:
- SNT kingdoms run on Paper 1.21.11 / Fabric 1.21.4 backends with a Velocity proxy, all of which are Java-based server software. This is a Bedrock Beta/Preview update and does not touch Java Edition at all.
- Bedrock players connect to SNT kingdoms today via Geyser + Floodgate, which translates the current live Bedrock protocol. Preview and Beta clients run a pre-release protocol (26.60.30) that Geyser does not yet support, so Preview/Beta users should continue to connect using the standard live Bedrock client.
- More broadly, Minecraft 26.x clients are not yet supported on SNT kingdoms because PaperMC, Velocity, and the Via family of plugins have not yet migrated to Mojang's year-based versioning scheme. We're keeping a close eye on upstream progress and will update kingdoms as soon as the ecosystem is ready.
In short: your kingdom keeps running perfectly. If you have any questions, our support team is always happy to help!
